Solar Panels and how they work
As part of receiving our solar panels as part of the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund, we want to help the community be part of the process.
You very kindly voted for the centre to receive the funding, so we wanted to explain how they work and how this fits the centres ethos.
We want to be an example of how we can all play our part to reduce our impact on the climate, even a older building still has ways of being part of the solution.
We are very lucky to have a new volunteer, Hari Prasad Manivannan who recently graduated with MSc in Building Information Modelling and Digital Transformation University of Liverpool to explain the new technologies to us.

Every generation has a responsibility to care for the places that bring people together.
For more than 150 years, Ruthrieston Community Centre has been at the heart ofour community. It's a place where people have learned new skills, built friendships, celebrated special moments, volunteered their time and supported one another.
This week, we've reached an exciting milestone in that journey.
Our new solar panels are now installed and already generating clean, renewable energy for the centre.
This isn't just about generating electricity. It's about reducing our environmental impact, lowering energy costs and helping secure the future of the centre.
