Join us for our Music in the Gardens Open Day on Saturday 8 August

We’re delighted to invite everyone to our Music in the Gardens Open Day  on Saturday 8 August, from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm at Ruthrieston Community Centre and Community Garden.

This promises to be a wonderful afternoon filled with live music, community activities, great company and free refreshments. Whether you’re already part of our community or visiting for the first time, we’d love to welcome you.

A huge thank you goes to CFINE for supporting the event and helping us bring an exciting programme of musicians and performers to the day. Thanks to their support, visitors will be able to enjoy a fantastic selection of live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Our programme includes performances from Lucy Kennedy and Ian Reid of the Aberdeen Ukulele Group, as well as a lively jam session with The Melting Pot. We’ll also be showcasing some of our own talented local musicians and artists, celebrating the creativity that makes our community so special.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about traditional Scottish music, don’t miss the Scottish Folk Song Workshop led by Elisabeth Flett. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover traditional songs in a relaxed and friendly setting, whether you’re an experienced singer or simply curious to give it a try.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to get active. Enjoy a Scottish Country Dancing demonstration from the RSCDS, experience Pilates in Nature with Lucy, or join Pilates, Yoga and You with Manisha. These sessions are suitable for all abilities and offer a fun way to enjoy movement outdoors.

Of course, no community celebration would be complete without something to eat. Free food and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, giving everyone the chance to relax, chat and enjoy the atmosphere together.

Our Open Day is all about bringing people together, meeting neighbours, discovering what Ruthrieston Community Centre has to offer and celebrating the wonderful people who make our community such a welcoming place. Whether you stay for an hour or spend the whole afternoon with us, we hope you’ll enjoy everything that’s on offer.

Now all we need is a little sunshine. We’ll certainly be keeping our fingers crossed for good weather so we can make the most of our beautiful community garden.

Please help us spread the word by telling your friends, family and neighbours. The more people who join us, the more enjoyable the day will be for everyone.

We can’t wait to welcome you on Saturday 8 August at Ruthrieston Community Centre, 532 to 536 Holburn Street, Aberdeen AB10 7LL.

Come along, enjoy the music, meet new people, celebrate local talent and be part of a fantastic community day. We look forward to seeing you there!
